Promoting Mental Wellness & Reducing Substance Abuse

A panel of providers and experts, called the Community Advisors Council, met to craft an agenda that would address these issues. A Community Impact Team of volunteers evaluated the programs based on ability to meet the desired outcomes of the RFP and awarded a total of $418,100 for address Mental Wellness and Substance Abuse.

Focus on Awareness and Community Outreach: Improve awareness and understanding of mental health issues; linking individuals with appropriate services and creating a greater community understanding of mental wellness issues and available programs and services
$5,000 has been earmarked to fund Atlantic County programs that address this goal. An RFP will be issued Summer 2005.
Sustaining Quality of Life: Improve/sustain the quality of life for individuals living with mental illness by connecting them with appropriate supportive services, e.g. case management, housing, child care and transportation services so that they can continue to access treatment.
