Directory of Volunteer Opportunities Available

United Way’s Volunteer Center of Atlantic County has developed a guide to help individuals and groups interested in volunteering find appropriate opportunities, called “Volunteering in Atlantic County”.

The guide contains a listing of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year at dozens of nonprofit organizations. Each organization’s listing includes contact information, a brief description of the organization’s mission, a mini-job description for each volunteer position, minimum age requests and the time volunteers are needed. In addition to the alphabetical organization listings, the guide includes helpful tips in choosing the right position, a seasons of service guide to annual days of volunteering, and helpful indexes organized by geographic location, areas of interest and skills, and age group.

The mission of United Way’s Volunteer Center of Atlantic County is to engage more people effectively in volunteer community service to help solve serious social problems. The Volunteer Center recruits and matches individuals and group of volunteers to more than 100 health, recreational, cultural and social service nonprofit organizations in Atlantic County. The Volunteer Center also recognizes the contributions of volunteers in this community.
