United Way of Atlantic County is pleased to announce that the 7th Annual Auction for the Community, presented by Harrah's Entertainment, will take place place Friday, March 19, 2010 in the Traymore Ballroom at Bally's Atlantic City.

Culinary creativity comes alive this year with the French-Italian fusion of two very special guests, Chefs Georges Perrier and Chris Scarduzio, partners of the acclaimed Mediterranean bistro Mia located in Caesars. The Philly based culinary couple will develop the dinner menu and present a cooking demonstration for guests, including the lucky few seated at an exclusive chef's table.

United Way of Atlantic County will also honor Ms. Alyce Parker, Vice President of Public Affairs for Harrah's Entertainment during the event.

Ms. Parker has proven an extraordinary advocate for our community in her 20 years of service in the casino industry and other endeavors. She has consistently supported the community through a number of resources, including our United Way. Please join us as we celebrate Alyce Parker's commitment to LIVE UNITED during the 7th Annual Auction for the Community.

The live Auction will be hosted by former Flyer and Hall of Fame inductee Dave Schultz. Schultz recently participated in a documentary called Broad Street Bullies, which chronicles the Flyers two-time Stanley Cup-winning team. The HBO production is due out in May during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Tickets are priced at $100 per person and include dinner and cocktails. Sponsors of the event are: Harrah's Entertainment, ACUA, and Battelle.

The Auction for the Community is one of United Way's biggest annual events, with more than $270,000 raised in its six year history. These dollars go directly to fund many of the programs and services offered by United Way and its partner agencies.

Sponsorships are still available and donations are welcome! Contact Mary Godleski at 609-404-4483 ext 14 or mgodleski@untiedwayac.org
