Campaign Timetable

Six Weeks Before Kickoff

  • Meet with CEO to obtain commitment
  • Contact company communications department for coordinated support
  • Establish Campaign Committee
  • Establish Leadership Campaign Plan and Coordinator
  • Meet with United Way Representative
  • Review past performance
  • Establish goals
  • Establish Campaign timetable

Three Weeks Before Kickoff

  • Recruit Campaigners / Solicitor
  • Order Campaign supplies from UW Representative
  • Confirm all meeting arrangements with dept. heads and UW Representative

One Week Before Kickoff

  • Begin Campaign promotion
  • Send CEO endorsement letter to potential leadership givers.
  • Hold orientation session for Campaigners / Canvassers
  • Send CEO endorsement letter to employees
  • Conduct leadership giving solicitation

Week of Kickoff

  • Hold employee rally or group meetings using videos and speakers
  • Conduct employee solicitation
  • Conduct Campaign Committee report meeting
  • Conduct follow-up solicitation until each employee has been contacted
  • Report campaign progress to leadership and employees

Close of Campaign

  • Conduct final Campaigner and Leadership giving report meetings
  • Submit final report to UW Campaign Representative
  • Announce Final Results to employees and thank them
  • Distribute CEO thank you letter to all employees
  • Recognize and thank Campaign Committee and Campaigners (with CEO support)
  • Prepare written evaluation for next year’s company coordinator
  • Put “New Hires” program in place*

*New Hires Program
The New Hires program is to inform new employees of the importance of giving through United Way. The packet includes a brochure and a pledge form given at the time of their employee orientation. See your UW Representative to answer any questions.
