Dear Employees:
During the next few weeks, you will
be asked to contribute to the United Way of Atlantic County
Campaign. If you’ve given in the past, I want to take
this opportunity to encourage you to support this very worthwhile
organization again this year. If you haven’t contributed,
I’d like you to consider taking advantage of this easy
and efficient way to make your charitable contribution. The
people in our community need our help more than ever before.
United Way is dedicated to helping
local, nonprofit organizations meet the health and human service
care needs of the people who live or work in Atlantic County.
The funds raised during the annual campaign will support 34
local agencies and will provide one-time grants to agencies
so new programs can be created. Thousands of people in Atlantic
County who need help depend on these services – children
and youth at risk, handicapped and disabled children and adults,
the elderly, mentally ill and troubled families. There is
a very good chance that you – or someone you know –
is benefiting from a program that receives United Way funding.
You can also be sure that the money
you contribute is well spent; 86 cents out of every dollar
raised is used for programs and services. And, trained volunteers
from our community monitor the nonprofit agencies that receive
United Way funding for the efficiency and effectiveness of
their programs. You can also choose how your gift is distributed.
Please give to the United Way. It’s a great way to give
to what matters… helping people in our community.
Dear Brothers and Sisters
This fall we are offering you the
opportunity to help people who cannot help themselves by sharing
in our United Way Campaign.
Over the years, organized labor has taken great pride in its
support of the United Way. Even in time of economic distress,
our members have responded to the needs of the community.
As a result, everyone knows someone who has benefited from
United Way-funded programs and services.
I urge your consideration of the United
Way suggested giving guide for arriving at your gift amount,
and for making your contribution using our payroll deduction
plan. It provides a fair and reasonable way to pledge your
support of United Way’s health, youth and recreation,
social services, medical research and rehabilitation programs
serving all Atlantic County residents.
By working together, we can make sure
that these vital human care services are available to our
families, friends, neighbors, and fellow employees. Your support
of the United Way through our payroll deduction plan makes
it possible for all of us to help people in our community.
Thank you for your consideration and
support.
