How To Be An Advocate
Lend your voice
The basic definition of an advocate is that it is someone who actively supports a cause, policy or idea. Everyday you have an opportunity to be an advocate. You don’t have to be and expert in public policy to be and advocate. Being an advocate is as easy as talking about why you support the community and United Way, and why the issues we are addressing are important to you. Advocating does not take a lot of time or money, but it does take a commitment to talk about our community and how you are making it better.
United Way of Atlantic County recently created a Board level Public Policy Committee to help advance the common good in our community. Click on this link to learn more about our local advocacy efforts.
